Alternergy Holdings Corp. said Thursday its subsidiaries Alabat Wind Power Corp. (AWPC) and Alternergy Tanay Wind Corp. (ATWC) signed contract for the delivery of wind turbines for its two wind projects with a combined capacity of 162 megawatts costing P16 billion.
Alternergy said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange the agreements of AWPC and ATWC with Envision Energy International Trading Ltd. would be for the development of Alabat and Tanay wind power projects.
The company is developing the 100-megawatt (MW)Tanay wind project in Rizal and 62-MW Alabat wind project in Quezon.
“Envision Energy was selected after a very thorough and rigorous tender process and due diligence. Our partnership with Envision, a leader in wind technology, will bring cutting-edge innovation to ensure optimal energy generation of Alternergy’s next wind projects,” said Alternergy Wind Holdings Corp. (AWHC) president Knud Hedeager. AWHC is Alternergy’s sub-holding company for its wind portfolio.
Alternergy said the respective boards of AWPC and ATWC, in meetings on Feb. 1, 2024, approved and authorized the execution of full service agreements, onshore turbine supply agreements, offshore turbine supply agreements and coordination agreements with Envision Energy.
“Alternergy’s pioneering efforts will again be demonstrated as we join forces with Envision, to use state-of-the-art solutions to achieve high performance and reliability of the wind turbines, and once installed, will be the largest wind turbines in the country,” Alternergy president Gerry Magbanua said.
The agreements involve the design, engineering, manufacturing and delivery of wind turbine generators (WTGs), a combination of 6.5 MW and 8 MW rated capacity and include a 10-year service and maintenance arrangement.
The two wind projects were declared as winning bids under the Green Energy Auction 2 program held in July 2023. They are expected to be completed by 2025.
