The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) said it extended the deadline of submission of eligibility requirements for the P2.53-billion Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure to Feb. 16, 2024.
It said that as early as October 2023, there were plans for a joint venture that would handle the commercialization and expansion, repair and maintenance of passive ICT infrastructure in New Clark City (NCC).
“We understand that to do this project effectively, we will need the expertise of the private sector who can help us create a vibrant and innovative competitive market for ICT services via an Open Access Model,” said BCDA president and CEO Joshua Bingcang.
The BCDA initiated the project by inviting prospective bidders to submit the pre-eligibility requirements in the fourth quarter of 2023 for the commercialization of its passive ICT Infrastructure.
NCC aims to attract high-value residents and businesses by investing in a robust Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure with competitive retail internet services in the 9,450-hectare metropolis.
