TAGUIG City Mayor Laarni Cayetano has assured her constituents, including residents of the so-called EMBO (Enlisted Men’s Barrio) of free and accessible health services.
Cayetano made her commitment specifically to the 10 EMBO residents during the recent Love Caravan mobilization at Barangays East Rembo and Rizal which involved medical, dental, and nutrition service activities.
“No matter where in Taguig, we are ready to deliver our Love Caravan, so we head to the barangays to deliver our free medical and dental services. The Caravan has been able to reach out to residents of East Rembo and Rizal, providing medical consultations and dental check-ups and procedures to over 1,300 and 2,000 residents, respectively,” Cayetano said.
“We thanked everyone who has been our partner in the continued expansion of healthcare services in our Probinsyudad,” she added.
The Taguig Love Caravan is a mobile program that goes around the city three times a week, strategically reaching communities to provide health services.
The pioneering program has a wide range of free medical services, including consultations, check-ups, diagnostics, and laboratory services, offering residents essential medical tests such as CBC, urinalysis, random blood sugar (RBS), blood typing, chest X-ray, ECG, and ultrasound.
The city government has taken initiatives to ensure that health services continue in the EMBO area after the closure of the eight health centers by the Makati City government.
Cayetano said aside from the Love Caravan, the following facilities in the city are open to accommodate the residents from EMBO: Taguig-Pateros District Hospital (TPDH), 31 health centers, seven primary care facilities, three Super Health Centers, a Dialysis Center, five Animal Bite Treatment Centers, three main laboratories, and 29 community-based laboratories.
The city government also announced the Doctor-on-Call program and Home Health service, where EMBO residents can avail themselves of free medical and nursing services right in their own homes.
Senior citizens, residents with serious medical conditions and illnesses, and emergency patients may also avail themselves of the programs.
The city also opened its first Satellite Pharmacy in East Rembo last Jan. 5, providing free maintenance medications for diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and prescriptions from telemedicine consultations. The satellite office also offers medical and PhilHealth assistance.
Taguig City also recently opened a new health center in Barangay Post Proper Southside, bringing the city’s health services closer to the residents.
Cayetano said her administration is committed to ensuring a “Transformative, Lively, and Caring Probinsyudad” that will benefit every Taguigeño.
