The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office will launch a new lottery game with a base prize of P1 billion in 2024.
“We will pattern it after the Powerball in US. This is a different jackpot game,” PCSO general manager Mel Robles said in a television interview Wednesday.
He said 20 percent of the prize money will go to taxes.
The PCSO last week started the test run of its web-based application betting platform “e-Lotto” – a digital version of the traditional lottery game.
“e-Lotto is a significant milestone for PCSO as we embrace the digital era and cater to the evolving needs of our players,” Robles said.
The PCSO is also offering more than P1 billion in combined winnings for lucky bettors after it raised to a minimum guaranteed P500 million for each of the jackpot prizes for its Grand Lotto 6/55 and Ultra Lotto 6/58 games.
“This is our way of showing our appreciation to our loyal patrons,” Robles said.
Meanwhile, a solo bettor from Quezon City won the P310.6 million jackpot of the Super Lotto 6/49 drawn last Tuesday night.
Robles said the lucky jackpot winner got the winning combination 30-16-33-12-29-25 with the jackpot prize of P310,696,635.40.
There were also 116 second prize winners who will receive P50,000 each for correctly guessing five of the six jackpot numbers.
