Mayor Laarni Cayetano on Monday led the oath-taking ceremony for Taguig City’s newly elected barangay and Sanggunian Kabataan officials at Marquis Events Place in Bonifacio Global City.
The village captains, councilors, SK chairpersons, and SK councilors from Districts 1 and 2 pledged to fulfill their office responsibilities aligned with the local government’s “Transformative, Lively, and Caring City” agenda.
The newly elected SK officers from Embo barangays, now under the jurisdiction of Taguig were also sworn in.
During the event, Cayetano emphasized the importance of “guarding their hearts, making mindful decisions, and prioritizing constituents.”
She expressed her prayer for their success, highlighting their potential to achieve their goals and contribute to Taguig’s progress.
The event was also attended by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and
Taguig-Pateros Rep. Ricardo Cruz Jr.
The senator underscored the true significance of personal commitment and power when coupled with correct principles, aligned priorities, and a values-centered purpose.
For his part, Cruz shared his experience as barangay captain
emphasizing the hardships he experienced and challenges he faced. He assured the newly elected officials of the administration’s support and guidance
Also, present during the event were City Administrator Jose Luis Montales, Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, City Councilors from Districts 1 and 2, Department of the Interior and Local Government – Taguig director Gemma Dancil, and family members of the Barangay and SK
officials.
