Padre Pio devotees Gallery Catholic devotees venerate the first-class relic of Padre Pio, a handkerchief soaked with his sweat only hours before he died of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, commonly known as “Padre Pio. ” during the celebration of the Feast Day of Padre Pio on the anniversary of his death on September 23, 2023, Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Quiapo Manila. Born May 25, 1887, in Pietrelcina, Italy, Francesco Forgione, became a Capuchin Friar in January 1903 at the age of 16, and died September 23, 1968. In 1910, the year in which he became a priest, he received the stigmata.
