Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has received the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award in the National Capital Region under the CSC’s 2023 Search for Outstanding Government Workers program.
“I thank the CSC for this recognition. But this is not just for me alone but for all workers at the Quezon City government who are giving their best to serve all of our QCitizens,” she said.
“If not for them, we cannot achieve this special recognition that only proves of our effective and beneficial programs and projects,” she added.
The certificate, issued on May 19, was presented last Wednesday.
Established by virtue of Executive Order No. 508 if 1992, the Presidential Lingkod Bayan Award is an award for outstanding work performance and contributors with national impact.
According to the CSC process, the names of the regional winners would then be forwarded to the Honor Awards Program National Secretariat for review before a national qualifier would be determined.
Several city government officials, led by City Administrator Michael Alimurung, were also nominated for the Pagasa Award, along with Chief of Staff Rowena Macatao, Business Permits and Licensing Department head Margarita Santos, city engineer Dale Perral and city treasurer Edgar Villanueva.
