A bomb exploded in a restobar in Barangay Calinan Poblacion, Davao City at around 10:50 p.m. on Monday, claiming a life and injuring three individuals.
According to the report by the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the victim was identified as Romnick Creer Nortarte, 31 and a resident of Sitio Acacia, Barangay Tamugan, Marilog District, Davao City.
The other victims, identified as Emilita Alegarme, Loribeth Nocyeo, and Rey Agliones, were brought to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Nortarte was declared dead on arrival at the Southern Philippines Medical Clinic by the attending physician, Dr. Abraham Magbanua.
Investigation revealed that after the victims ate dinner at the Emragila Restobar and were about to leave, Alegarme noticed a white cellophane bag with something lighted inside it and placed on the window of the establishment.
Upon checking the plastic bag, it suddenly exploded. DCPO spokesperson, Police Captain Hazel Tuazon said further investigation is now underway to identify the bombers and the motive.
Tuazon hinted that a personal grudge may have been the motive for the explosion.
