THE script holds immense significance in the world of filmmaking, serving as the foundation upon which a film is built. Recognizing its important role, actor Aljur Abrenica prioritizes the script evaluation process before committing to any movie project.
Speaking to Manila Standard Entertainment, the actor proudly expressed how beautiful the story of the film The Revelation is, directed by Ray An Dulay and written by his wife, Joyzell Dulay. It started showing in cinemas on June 21.
“It’s a psychological thriller, so the twists in the story are different. This is the first one that I agreed to, apart from my co-cast members. Our working environment on set was very collaborative, which made the work lighter despite the intense scenes,” Aljur said in the vernacular.
Aside from loving his role in “The Revelation,” Aljur said he enjoyed shooting the film because he was working with his younger brother, Vin Abrenica, once again. They previously worked together in the film Ang Hapis at Himagsik ni Hermano Puli (2016), directed by Gil Portes.
“But you know what I liked most about this film? The opportunity to work with Vin. I really enjoyed this project because he was with me,” Aljur said.
“Back in 2016, it wasn’t like this. But now, it’s the opposite. We’re the protagonist-antagonist pair. It’s my first time having a major role like this. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with [Vin] because we haven’t been together for a long time, personally as siblings. There are many revelations when we’re together. This is true,” Aljur added.
Aside from Aljur and Vin, The Revelation also stars Ana Jalandoni, Jelai Andres, Lloyd Samartino, Adriana Agcaoili, Mosang, Sergio Garcia, and China Roces.
