MAY 3 marked an important milestone for the city of San Pablo in Laguna as the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar and San Pablo City Mayor Vicente Amante signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the construction of 25,000 units of mid- and high-rise low-cost housing as part of the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) flagship program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
The MOU signing ceremony at the office of Secretary Acuzar was attended by key city officials, including former Councilor Jojo Biglete and private partners who are experts in the field of housing and real estate development.
Among them were Ms. Mary Ann Tobias of ARCC Construction, one of DHSUD’s trusted developer, Mr. Rodolfo “Rudy” Francisco, a realtor who made the ground works to the local governments in the CALABARZON region to participate in the 4PH program of the national government, and project consultants Mr. Voltaire Claveria and Mr. Ricky Mallari.
The 4PH program aims to provide affordable housing to every Filipino family. It is a nationwide program that prioritizes the housing needs of the homeless through the production of affordable housing loans, people’s housing sites, and housing development projects. The program helps beneficiaries improve their living conditions, providing them with security, stability, and a sense of ownership.
The MOU signing is a significant step forward towards achieving the objectives of the 4PH program in San Pablo City. The construction of the 25,000 units of mid-rise low-cost housing will significantly improve the quality of life of the people of San Pablo. He highlighted how the low-cost housing project will provide an opportunity for residents to purchase their homes at affordable prices, further emphasizing the benefits of the program to the beneficiaries.
