The Department of Energy said Tuesday it issued clearance to seven generation companies to undertake a system impact to the power grids in March.
The companies will undertake system impact study to determine the impact of their projects to the grids.
Among the projects endorsed by the DOE for system impact study are Atimonan One Energy Inc.’s 1,280-megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle gas turbine power plant project in Barangay Villa Ibaba, Atimonan, Quezon.
Other endorsed projects are First Gen Visayas Energy Inc.’s 100-MW wind project in Pangasinan and Zambales and its 100-MW wind project in Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental.
The DOE also endorsed to National Grid Corporation of the Philippines the 150-MW solar project of Negros PH Solar Inc. in Bacolod City and Barangay Tabunan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
It also granted clearance to Nueva Tierra Energy Corp.’s 177-MW San Roque Solar Power Project in San Manuel and San Nicolas, Pangasinan and Itogon, Benguet.
Other projects are Philippine Geothermal Production Company Inc.’s 150-MW Mt. Labo geothermal power project which covers Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur and its 50-MW Mt. Malinao Geothermal Power Project in Albay and Camarines Sur.
