Magnitude 4.7 quake shakes Zambales

A magnitude 4.7 earthquake jolted Zambales province, and was felt in some other parts of the National Capital Region at 12:21 p.m. Thursday.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs) said the tremor’s epicenter was 14 kilometers northeast of Masinloc town with a depth of 22 kilometers.

The quake was felt at a “weaker” intensity 3 in Quezon City and intensity 2 in Baguio City.

Phivolcs recorded the following instrumental intensities: intensity 3 in Infanta, Pangasinan; Lucena City, Quezon; Santa Ignacia, Tarlac, and Iba, Cabangan, Zambales.

Intensity 2 was felt in Orani, Bataan; Santol, La Union; Bamban, Tarlac City, Tarlac, and Olongapo City, Zambales, while intensity 1 was recorded in Dinalupihan, Abucay, Bataan; Obando, Malolos City, Plaridel, Calumpit, San Ildefonso, Bulacan; Roxas City, Capiz; Tagaytay City, Cavite; Vigan City, Ilocos Sur; Pasay City, Marikina City, Metro Manila; San Jose, Gapan City, Nueva Ecija; Guagua, Magalang, Pampanga; Urdaneta, Bolinao, Pangasinan; Ramos, Tarlac, and Subic, Zambales.
