Giving back to the institution that honed him to become the successful businessman he is today, Converge ICT Solutions Inc. co-founder and chief executive Dennis Anthony Uy donated three hectares of land to his alma mater Chevalier School in Angeles City, Pampanga, underscoring the value of education just like what his late father used to advocate for.
“Chevalier, and of course my father, taught me what true service is all about. It is devoting time, resources and energy to improve the lives of others. This is why I am donating a 3-hectare property in Angeles for the use of Chevalier School Inc. This school will be located within the grounds of the Tech City, and will be named in honor of my father, Chun Ching Wong Uy,” Uy said in his acceptance speech during the Chevalier awarding ceremony.
Uy was recognized as Chevalier’s outstanding alumnus for making significant contributions, not only for the good of the community but the whole country at large, and for his achievements that help bring distinction to his former school.
Uy thanked the institution and has attributed his successes in business and in life to the teachings brought to him by the Angeles-based high school.
“It was this school that taught me the value of serving others. Something that my father, who recently passed, also taught me. My father also valued education and he thought highly of the Chevalier School,” he said.
