Resolutions are very prominent every new year; there’s just something magical when we enter a new year that motivates us to do something different and start anew.
The new year reminds us that it’s time to reevaluate and reflect on the past year, and focus on the goals for the next. Every year, many of us makes a resolution list, mostly because it motivates us to do something different and apply our learnings from the previous year to start anew.
This 2023, the YOU Beauty PH team shares 5 skincare resolutions for a brighter, better, and beautiful skin that improve your skin’s health.
1. Making sunscreen as part of your everyday routine
Lois Tagle, 24
Working in front of the computer everyday is a big factor that greatly affects me from keeping my skin healthy and young. I’ve learned that exposing yourself to UVA, UVB, and blue light from smart devices, computers, and TVs, even when working indoors, may potentially damage our skin. Exposure to blue light emitted from digital screens affects our skin by increasing the production of melanin or pigmentation, which could lead to melanoma and age spots. Second, blue light can also create free radicals that may cause inflammation, that may lead to the breakdown of collagen and elastic tissue in our skin.
This year, I am committed in using the YOU Beauty Triple UV Elixir as my daily sunscreen. What I like about it is that it has SPF 50+, PA++++, and broad spectrum that protects my skin from UVA, UVB and Blue light. And it leaves no white cast!

2. Start doing face massages
Samantha Cruz, 22
I am guilty of quickly rubbing skincare products onto my face just to finish off my day and night routine. This year, I am investing more time in doing face massages, as it helps in promoting healthy skin while relaxing your facial muscles. It also helps to enhance the effects of your facial serum.
And for that bright and glowing skin, I use the Radiance Up! Antioxidant Serum. It has Symwhite 377, known to be a safe and an effective ingredient that brightens and lightens your dark spots.
3. Understanding my skincare products
Jrish Jimenez, 25
Amidst the saturated market of skincare products and thousands of skincare routine suggestions on social media, I’ve learned that the best way to achieve that glow from within is to understand the need of my skin. This 2023, understanding the exact function of your skincare products will also help you maintain a simple skin care routine that you can rely on.
To keep my skin healthy and acne free, one of my non-negotiable steps is cleansing with the Acneplus Low Ph Cleanser, which is gentle on the skin as it has low Ph formula that is infused with Corn Mint Oil, to cleanse and refresh my skin. It’s also enriched with 4D Centella and Herbal Fusion Actives that helps reduce skin inflammation.
4. Adding eye cream in my skincare routine
Jennika Casin, 27
The earliest symptoms of aging are often seen around the eyes – fine lines, dark circles, and puffy eyes. These are concerns that I feel make me look older than my age. The skin surrounding our eyes are thinner, and that makes our face more susceptible to environmental aggressors such as blue light and UV radiation.
To prevent further the signs of aging, this year, I am adding eye cream to my skin care routine. The Advanced Youth Recharging Peptide Eye Cream does wonders by brightening the under eyes and keeping it firm. It is charged with caffeine and Plantide X, that help reduce puffiness and fine lines. It even comes with a ceramic applicator for the delicate eye area.
5. Staying hydrated and prioritizing moisturizers
Mike Cabbo, 36
As much as I love coffee, even I have to agree that water really improves your overall health, and of course has a lot benefits for our skin. Keeping your skin hydrated makes your skin always it at its best.
To step up my skin care routine, I will not neglect applying my moisturizers and serums, day and night. Adding onto my skin care stash is the YOU Beauty Biomecera Advanced Booster Serum, that helps strengthen the skin barrier and keeps our skin hydrated, smoother and radiant. Also making it to the list is the YOU Beauty Radiance Up! Deep Moisturizing Cream, which has Ceramide 1-3-6 that helps maintain the moisture on our skin.
