Local demand for iPhone devices remains strong

Globe Telecom said over the weekend the local demand for iPhone devices remains high among Filipinos, despite the rising consumer prices and the global pandemic.

“This is our first iPhone event after pandemic. Surprisingly we did surpass iPhone 13 launch maybe because we opened various ways to get it,” Globe Postpaid portfolio director Mark Pasaylo told reporters during the launch of the iPhone 14 in the Philippines.

“People lined up to get iPhone 14 with Globe. We want to bring back that excitement. We want to make sure people experience that incredible feeling with us,” he said.

Globe said iPhone 14 is available for GPlan Plus 999, GPlan Plus 1799 and GPlan Plus 1999 with unlimited access to an app of choice, and big data that’s as good as rewards.

Prepaid subscribers can also avail of the iPhone 14 series with easy payment terms of up to 36 months with no contract period.

Pasaylo said “a big chunk” of Globe’s postpaid subscriber base are iPhone users. “We have always been the top-of-line partner for Apple,” he said. Globe has over 1.7 million post-paid subscribers.

Globe earlier reported a 51-percent increase in net income in the first half to P19.7 billion from P13 billion in the same period last year.

Globe’s consolidated service revenue hit a record P78.9 billion in the six-month period, up 4 percent year-on-year, fueled by the solid contribution of data-related products and services across mobile and corporate data.
