SAN MARIANO, Isabela – Rep. Ed Christopher S. Go of the 2nd district of Isabela recently led the distribution of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) cash assistance to 1,276 informal worker-beneficiaries of various barangays in Benito Soliven, Gamu, Naguillian, Reina Mercedes, and San Mariano towns.
Go said through the initiative of his congressional office, a total of P5 million was given under the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to benefit displaced workers affected by the drawn-out economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I make sure that we continue to give out the needed support to our displaced workers affected by the pandemic phenomenon,” Go stressed.
“We are here to assure the government’s concern for your benefit as we furthered the delivery of financial assistance to support and provide for yourselves in these times.”
The villagers expressed their profound gratitude to DOLE through the leadership of Rep. Go whom they consider the “Action Man” for his intervention provided to them.
“We just don’t thank him for this TUPAD program since he was always ‘on the Go’ to extend his all-out- services to us. He made waves in beefing up the health program for our sick family members who need medication, and not just in the wake of typhoons and calamities,” residents said.
Go also distributed sacks of rice to the beneficiaries
The TUPAD pay-out was attended by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE 2) Regional Director Joel Gonzales, municipal mayors and vice mayors, municipal administrators, and their Public Employment Service Office (PESO) managers.
“In my second term as your Representative of the 2nd District of the province, there will be more projects and programs eyed for implementation that will redound for the welfare of everyone,” Go said.
