The 2022 National Interscholastic Table Tennis Championship, to be held at Robinsons Mall in Novaliches, Quezon City on July 9 and 10, 2022, will serve as the qualifying event for Jinjang City’s World School Games (also known as the 18th Gymnasiade) from November 26 to December 3.
Tournament organizer, coach Julius Esposo, was appointed the Executive Director of the Federation of School Sports Association of the Philippines, in cooperation with the Philippine Inter-School Sport Association and other school institutions nationwide.
To be contested are College Men’s and Women’s Team Events, with boys’ and girls divisions also set in the high school level.
The college winners will also have a chance to qualify for future international competitions, such as the Asian University, ASEAN University and Asia Pacific Games. The 20th ASEAN University Games have been arranged earlier, with the Philippine delegation for Table Tennis composed of Charlie L. Lim (team manager); Esposo (coach), and student-athletes Charles Joshua T. Lim, Neo Angelo D. Laudato, Francis A. Bendebel, Romualdo S. Ramiro Jr., Ken Andrei D. Memoria, Alexandra Dominique P. Reyes, Marriane Joyce S. Peralta, Andrea J. Gestosani and Patricia R. Lucas.
The table tennis tournament is supported by Robinsons Mall- Novaliches, Joola Philippines, Omni Electrical & Lighting, PAGCOR, Bestank, Paddock’s Jeans, Green Paddle Equipment Inc., Table Tennis Association for National Development, Toto Pol Fish Broker, CHAWI Fishing, Dobinson, Carlson Digital Prints and sports patron Charlie Lim.
Participating schools and teams in the National Capital Region are Nuestra Señora De Guia Academy, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, Makati- Netto Club, Team PNP, College of Saint Benilde, Adamson University, PUP, UP, UST, UE, NU, Mapua.
Luzon participants are St. Paul College of Ilocos Sur, Pozorrubio School Pangasinan, Romblon State University, Tabaco National High School, Albay Bicol, Netto Club, Pagsanjan Ping-Pong, Pagsanjan, Laguna Province, DMMMSU, Laguna State Polytechnic University, Seven Lakes Table Tennis Club, Sampville TTC – City of San Pedro.
Bacolod City National High School is representing the Visayas, while Tangub City National High School is for Mindanao.
