As GMA Network continues to strengthen and level up its programs and various initiatives, GMA Regional TV and Synergy First Vice President and Head Oliver Victor Amoroso represented the country’s media giant at the Broadcast Asia 2022 held in Singapore from June 1 to 3.
Dubbed as “Asia’s Largest Broadcast Technology Stage,” Broadcast Asia brings together the most influential regional broadcasters, media, and entertainment professionals to discuss the latest trends in the business of broadcast media, broadcast technology, content and production, esports and gaming, and investments.
Joining Amoroso as GMA’s contingent were GMA Regional TV and Synergy Assistant Vice President for Local Content Production Marivic Araneta, Assistant Vice President for Local Sales Ann Marie Tan, and Systems and Support Senior Manager Gigi Lolarga.
Amoroso and his team also visited Mediacorp—Singapore’s national media network and one of Asia’s largest content creators—where they were personally welcomed by Mediacorp CEO Tham Loke Kheng, Chief Content Officer Virginia Lim, and Head of Content Distribution Jesslyn Wong. The GMA contingent was given a personalized tour of the Mediacorp Campus at the heart of Singapore, including its newsroom, news studios and suites, and its state-of-the-art video and audio post-production facilities.
“I appreciate the warm welcome of Mediacorp, especially by its CEO Tham Loke Kheng. With its trailblazing Channel News Asia, which they have positioned as an alternative to Western-based international media in its presentation of news from an Asian perspective, GMA Regional TV is inspired by Mediacorp’s leadership innovations, highlighted by their slogan create, connect, and inspire, across multiple platforms. We look forward to the possibility of a collaboration with them,” said Amoroso.
Amoroso is in charge of the operations, content and production, and business development of GMA Network’s regional arm, GMA Regional TV (RTV). He oversees the Network’s regional stations and offices located in North Central Luzon (GMA Dagupan and GMA Ilocos), Southern Luzon (GMA Batangas), Bicol Region (GMA Bicol), Central and Eastern Visayas (GMA Cebu), Western Visayas (GMA Iloilo and GMA Bacolod), Northern Mindanao (GMA Cagayan de Oro), Southern Mindanao (GMA Davao), South Central Mindanao (GMA General Santos), and Western Mindanao (GMA Zamboanga). Just recently, Amoroso supervised the launch of its 10th GMA Regional TV-produced program, ‘Balitang Southern Tagalog.’ He also led GMA RTV’s highly successful coverage of the 2022 local and national elections.
