Calvin Oftana struck with two free throws with a second left as the NLEX Road Warriors turned back Terrafirma Dyip, 105-102, on Wednesday in the 2022 Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.
Oftana got the chance to ice the win for the Road Warriors when he drew a foul from Joshua Munzon.
The Dyip had chance of sending the game into overtime off Munzon, a confident outside shooter in the 3×3 scene.
But he turned the ball over off Oftana’s tight guarding.
The 6’5” Oftana went on to finish with 15 points, behind Kevin Alas, who led with 24.
Juami Tiongson and Aldrech Ramos sank 18 points each for the Dyip.
The Dyip moved close in the last four seconds off a triple from Ed Daquioag and a split freebie from Tiongson, 102-103, but Oftana sealed the win with his freebies.
