Iloilo police cadet tops PNPA graduating class

A police cadet from Passi City in Iloilo is this year’s top graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), with six females joining him in the top 10 honor roll.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Dionardo Carlos on Monday presented to the media the top 10 graduating cadets of Alab-Kalis Alab-Kalis (Alagad ng Batas na Kakalinga sa Sinilangang Bayan) Class of 2022 in ceremony held at Camp Crame.

“I take pride to introduce to the Filipino nation the top 10 graduating cadets of the PNPA, representing the Alab-Kalis Class of 2022 who have completed the four year cadetship program to become commissioned officers to the police, fire, and jail service bureaus,” Carlos said at a press conference.

The following are the top 10 PNPA cadets in order of merit:

– Ernie Alarba Padernilla from Passi City, Iloilo

– Regina Joy Belmi Caguioa from Taguig City, Metro Manila

– Precious Shermaine Domingo Lee from San Juan City, Metro Manila

– Fidel Elona Triste III from Palo, Leyte

-Geneva Limjuco Flores from San Carlos City, Pangasinan

– Zoe Compleza Seloterio from Santa Barbara, Iloilo

– Neil Winston Navalta from Diffun, Quirino

– Mhar Dum-Ayan Viloria from Pugo, La Union

– Collyn Mae Dimazana Panganiban from Antipolo, Rizal

– Alyssa Angalan Bantasan  from Bauko, Mountain Province

Carlos said the valedictorian would receive the Presidential Kampilan Award, while the salutatorian would get the Vice Presidential Kampilan Award.

The culminating event will be held at Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite on April 21 with President Duterte as guewst of honor and keynote speaker.

A total of 226 cadets—consisting of 198 male and 28 female—are set to graduate this April 21.

Carlos said the PNPA is the primary source of commissioned officers of the PNP, with its alumni occupying key positions in the command structure of the organization.

“Nung nag-exam po ako at nakapasok sa PNPA para na siyang continuation ng journey ko (When I took the exam and made it to the PNPA, it was a continuation of my journey). I worked hard and dedication hanggang sa naging class valedictorian ako (I worked hard and I was dedicated until I became class valedictorian),” Padernilla told reporters.

In addition to the Presidential Kampilan, Padernilla would also get the be Chief PNP Kapilan, Best in Forensic Science Award and the Best in Thesis Award.

Ranked second and the class salutatorian is Regina Joy Belmi Caguioa from Taguig City in Metro Manila.

On the third spot is Cadet Precious Shermaine Domingo Lee from San Juan City in Metro Manila.

She will receive the Secretary of Interior and Local Government Kampilan Award and the Best in Public Safety Award.

Ranking fourth and fifth are Cadets Fidel Elona Triste III from Palo Leyte and Geneva Limjuco Flores from San Carlos City in Pangasinan.

The top six, Zoe Compleza Seloterio from Santa Barbara, Iloilo will also be the recipient of the Athletic Kampilan Award for having displayed exemplary performance in sports in the corps of cadets.
