A group identified with the late movie icon Fernando Poe Jr. on Monday vowed to deliver two million or more votes for presidential bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte in the May 9 elections.
At a news conference in Quezon City, Joseph Cadsawan, chairman of the Filipinos for Peace, Justice and Progress Movement (FPJPM), dismissed Vice President Leni Robredo’s People’s Campaign on Emerald Avenue in Pasig City, saying “Pasig is not a vote-rich city.”
“BBM and Sara have our 100 percent of votes. We don’t give allowances to our people. We only have volunteers,” he said. Rio N. Araja
“Campaign rallies on the streets cannot be translated into actual votes,” he added, referring to the 130,000 “Kakampink” supporters of Robredo who flocked to Emerald Avenue last Sunday as estimated by the police.
He also said there was no need for Marcos to attend any presidential debates “since we have already seen him perform during the Senate hearings, and how intelligent and articulate he is.”
“The FPJPM is endorsing UniTeam’s BBM-Sara tandem because Marcos has never said anything bad against his detractors,” he told reporters.
“We had a (nationwide) consultation in Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. We all agreed that we see a great leader in Marcos,” he said.
