Smart Communications Inc. said Monday it is beefing up 5G adoption in the country to serve the rising demand this year.
“As we enter 2022, we should not only aim to grow the business through our current lens. We also need to lay down the foundation for a future that is already happening now,” said Jane Basas, senior vice president and head of consumer wireless business at Smart.
Smart is scaling its GigaLife App, which has over 10 million users just a year after its launch and ramping up 5G adoption among subscribers, driving data usage while providing the best experience to customers with Smart 5G-certified devices.
Smart serves the most number of mobile data users in the country at 40 million.
“Partnerships with global brands such as Apple and Netflix, as well as enhanced prepaid and postpaid offers and digital innovations, will be key to serving our existing customers better and driving new customers to prefer our services in 2022,” Basas said.
Smart is also set to expand the GigaLife App to serve more customers in 2022, starting with PLDT Home Fiber subscribers, in addition to being the one-stop-app and engagement platform for Smart Prepaid, Signature, Infinity, Bro, TNT, and PLDT and Smart Bro Home WiFi customers.
The GigaLife App is enhancing customers’ digital lifestyle with digital payments via GigaPay with PayMaya, which allows users to link their PayMaya wallet for in-app transactions such as buying load, subscribing to promos and paying bills and innovative services that provide exclusive experiences on the Smart network such as the GigaPlay App.
With its integrated rewards platform GigaPoints, subscribers can convert points earned into data offers, products and devices. Through the GigaLife App, Smart Prepaid, Smart Postpaid, Smart Bro, Prepaid WiFi and TNT subscribers can also register to join GigaMania, which runs until Feb. 6, 2022.
