For the holidays, television actress Sylvia Sanchez and her family took their well-deserved showbiz break by flying to the United Arab Emirates.
In an Instagram post, the 48-year-old actress said, “Being with my family on the first day of the year fills my heart. If this is how the year will be, then I look forward to it. I’m happy, peaceful, and inspired.”
She ended the post by saying that she’s ready and well-equipped for 2020 and the rest of the (new) decade.
Last year, the Ataydes were in Japan to welcome the New Year. This time, Sylvia and husband Art Atayde, and their children Arjo, Ria, Gela, and Xavi chose Dubai for their much-needed bonding time.
“It’s been our tradition to celebrate the holidays together as a family. After the celebrations, we have our own commitments so we make it a point to be together no matter what,” Sylvia said.
Right after their vacation, Sylvia and her children Arjo and Ria would have a few days more before going back to their normal schedule. Sylvia is doing Pamilya Ko, while Ria is promoting Manillennials, which is streaming now on iWant.
Asked what people can expect in the series that has been renewed for another season Sylvia told Manila Standard in an interview, “Mahaba pa ang tatakbuhin ng kwento ng Pamilya Ko. For our book two, you will see reconciliations, characters making amends. We still have a lot to offer that’s why we are happy that the show has been extended.”
AVL Talent Circuit welcomes Sylvia
Ending the year on a high note, the Pamilya Ko actress signed with Arnold Vegafria’s talent management outfit, ALV Talent Circuit, to be part of its roster of stars.
The award-winning drama actress disclosed that the new partnership aims to explore potential movie projects and endorsement deals.
She points out, “Above all else, I expect a family. Trust and loyalty are important to me, and I’m confident that this new venture will point me in that direction.”
For his part, Vegafria asserts, “Of course, Sylvia’s acting talent is beyond reproach. She is a brand unto herself, and that’s what I’m more excited to explore. Besides, there’s so much room for creative and artistic collaboration.”
As one of the lead stars of the ABS-CBN primetime teleserye Pamilya Ko, Sylvia continues to earn critical acclaim for her dramatic mettle, which has made her one of the Kapamilya network’s first-call actresses.
Given the chance, however, she would love to dabble in more comic roles. “My first TV exposure was actually a comedy, when I worked with Rene Requiestas in Bhoy (1989-1991),” she recalls.
Sylvia is also optimistic about working behind the scenes as a movie producer and hints at two forthcoming indie films set to roll next year.
Apart from her hectic shooting schedule, she also calls the shots for Powerhouse Arte Inc., a talent management company handling seasoned actors as well as young upstarts.
The proud mom is thankful for the flourishing showbiz careers of her kids, Arjo and Ria Atayde. She said, “I want them not just to be prolific actors, but also to be one of the best, the kind who earn the respect of their fellow actors.”
When it comes to endorsements, Sylvia takes a no-nonsense approach.
“I try the product and see if it’s effective. I also want it to have some relevance to my life,” she explains, citing some brands she grew up with and which have withstood the test of time.
