It’s winner take all when TNT KaTropa and Meralco Bolts clash one last time in the decider of their semifinals clash for the last berth in the finals of the 2019 Philippine Basketball Association Governors’ Cup.

With the best-of-five series tied at 2-2, it now boils down to the deciding Game 5 at 7 p.m. tonight at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City as the Tropang Texters and Bolts both want to advance to the big stage.

Barangay Ginebra is already in the finals and is awaiting its dance partner for the best-of-seven championship showdown.

“We’re facing another do-or-die situation and we need to stay focused and disciplined, especially on our defense,” said Meralco coach Norman Black. “That will be key for us.”

With its back against the wall, Meralco showed its survival skills by forcing the sudden death Game 5 after equalizing with a Game 4 victory.

The Bolts took Game 4 convincingly, 95-83, Saturday night to make sure their season continues.

Allen Durham and Baser Amer were at the forefront of Meralco’s triumph.

The former uncorked 36 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double while the former hit most of his 12 points in the crucial stretch.

TNT actually had a strong start but was unable to hold on down the stretch where Meralco took over.

The championship series starts on January 8.
