Actor Will Smith performed onstage during The World’s Big Sleep Out event in Times Square in New York. The rapper also read a bedtime story for the crowd in sleeping bags while there were performances, speeches and poems from Jake Bugg, Frank Turner, The Script, Charlotte Church and Meghan Trainor all over the globe.
In Time Square, Will Smith urged the public to think about those who “don’t have a place to call home” in a video promoting a mass sleep-out to help end homelessness.
The Hollywood star, 51, is joined by Helen Mirren, 74, and Coldplay singer Chris Martin, 42, in calling for people to support The World’s Big Sleep Out, international event that aimed to see around 50,000 people spending the night outside in their respective cities on Dec. 7 to raise awareness of the issue.
