Three paintings by politician-turned-artist Sal Ponce Enrile is currently on display at the 2019 Art Basel Miami Beach Fair in Florida, USA.

Sal Ponce Enrile exhibits three of her paintings at Red Dot Miami.

The show, which opened on Dec. 4 and runs until Dec. 8, is the US edition of the international contemporary art fair with over 268 galleries from 35 countries showcasing works by more than 4,000 artists.

Enrile’s artworks—“Village,” “Dreamers,” and “Redemption”—are mounted at booth 315 under the Red Dot Miami exhibition, one of Art Basel Miami’s leading satellite shows, which attracts over 38,000 visitors, majority of whom are high net worth collectors.

Talking about her artworks displayed at a beautiful gallery-style venue in the heart of Miami’s Wynwood District, Enrile said “Redemption” was the result of purging all negativity she initially experienced as an emerging artist.

“As I was planning my first solo exhibit, I approached several galleries and realized it was difficult to penetrate the local art scene. I was rejected by several galleries, so I decided to try my luck abroad, which worked out for me,” she related.

She added, “I painted ‘Redemption’ while encouraging myself not to give up, hoping that this artwork would someday be my redeeming piece. I have been keeping ‘Redemption’ for myself since it holds so much meaning and personal value to me. I poured out all my frustrations and disappointments on this piece of work.”

Enrile’s latest international show follows her successful exhibit at the prestigious Artexpo New York held at Agora Gallery in April. Afterwards, she staged her second solo art show “Journey: Sal Ponce Enrile,” at Art Cube Gallery, Makati in June. Her painting “Journey” was the centerpiece of the art show.

She is an artist-in-residence at Rossocinabro Gallery in Rome, and is represented by Dragon Art. Proceeds of her works go to charities she’s supporting. Go to salponceenrile.com to view her artworks.
