The P1.4-million Toyota van will be turned over to barangay officials of Runruno. The ambulance was funded by the FCF Minerals Corp. through the barangay-initiated Social Development and Management Plan (SDMP) for this year.

FCF Minerals operates the gold-molybdenum mining project in Runruno.

Barangay Captain John Babli-ing said the ambulance was requested by their council to further boost their health and medical services for the villagers.

“This is a big help for our barangay since we are far from hospitals. This will be used to transport our sick villagers especially during emergencies and disasters,” he said.

The new ambulance was earlier proposed for funding through the health component of FCF’s SDMP, crafted by the barangay officials of Runruno hosting the mining project.

Mining law requires the crafting of the SDMP among various stakeholders of affected barangays as a tool for community development through the benefits of mining projects.
