Senator Francis Tolentino has urged the Department of Budget and Management to create a separate hybrid employee classification to accommodate the regularization of barangay workers.
In this way, the DBM can allot a portion of the national budget for the 41,976 barangays all over the country.
Tolentino, chairman of the Senate Local Government made this proposal during the technical working group for the Magna Carta for barangay workers.
But unlike other proposals, the senator is pushing for the immediate release of these incentives once the bill is passed into law. Macon Ramos-Araneta
