Garmin, a pioneer in GPS navigation and wireless devices, released three flagship smartwatches suited for the alpha males and females at an exclusive unboxing event at the Garmin Brand Store at Uptown Mall, in BGC recently.
"Garmin has been the top watch for runners. It became the watch to have for the alpha male or female, who are on top of their profession in sports," Navco Managing Director, Neil Tan said.
The three released fēnix 6 series are the fēnix 6, fenix 6S, and the top-line fēnix 6X, all having slight differences in band colors, lens editions and display sizes.
Three new features are added in the fÄ“nix series, including Power Manager to further extend battery life, PacePro for runners to level up their training and the BodyBattery™ to track the user's daily workout schedules, sleep and rest days
The watches are made of the finest materials such as sapphire glass, amorphous diamond-like coating, and titanium that make the watches highly durable in any terrain or harsh climate.
"Sapphire glass, DLC or diamond-like carbon coating, even titanium in some models. That gives the watch to withstand the toughest conditions," Tan said.
Both the fēnix 6 and the fēnix 6S have smaller display sizes of 1.3" and battery lives of 14 days, while the fēnix 6X has a bigger display size of 1.4" and longer battery life of 24 days due to its unique solar charging technology.
All three smartwatches have upgraded sapphire editions where scratch-resistant sapphire lenses are added to further boost the smartwatch's durability.
Users will never run out of options where to travel next as topographic maps of 2,000 ski resorts and 41,000 golf courses all over the world are pre-loaded within the watch.
When an accident occurs, the users' emergency contacts are immediately notified via message thanks to the smartwatch's Incident Report feature that is sensitive to sudden impact.
The suggested retail prices of fēnix 6 and the fēnix 6S are P40,995 respectively, while the Sapphire editions of fēnix 6 and fēnix 6S are P54,995.
The high-end fēnix 6X are available in three versions, the Sapphire edition P58,995, the Pro Solar editions, the Titanium Gray DLC with Black Band costs P64,995, and the Titanium Gray DLC with Titanium Bracelet is prized at P78,995.
Despite the steep prices, Tan concluded that owning a Garmin smartwatch is worth every penny.
"The Garmin FÄ“nix watch has been the best premium smartwatch for the uncompromising person. It's tough, it's innovative, and it's beautiful," Tan concluded.
