In a surprising deal, Grandslam-seeking San Miguel Beer sent Christian Standhardinger to NorthPort in exchange for Mo Tautuaa in a swap of former top picks in the Philippine Basketball Association.
The blockbuster trade was completed yesterday with many in shock as both bigs have become valuable for their respective now former teams.
The PBA already approved the transaction outright, deeming it was an equal deal for both parties.
Standhardinger, despite being second fiddle to five-time Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo, has helped the Beermen in their two championships thus far this season.
On the other hand, Tautuaa has emerged as a solid big man in the middle for the Batang Pier as he is slowly but surely proving his worth as a former No. 1 pick.
Tautuaa was 2015’s top choice while Standhardinger was called first in the 2017 draft.
