GMA Music welcomed The Clash alumni Riel, Dani, Lyra, and Mel –collectively known as XOXO—together with Psalms David and Brian Chong to its roster of talents as they signed separate recording deals on Sept. 20.
The newly-launched girl group XOXO aspires to make their fans even prouder with their performances now that they are officially part of GMA Music.
Riel, dubbed as XOXO’s ‘Diva,’ extended her gratitude to their avid supporters, “We feel super blessed because finally, we are one step closer to our dreams.”
Dani, the ‘Fierce and Sexy’ member, expressed her enthusiasm on their new journey, “We’re so happy and excited for what’s ahead of us. We are grateful for this chance and we promise to give it our all.”
Lyra, the ‘Tough girl’ of the group, still finds it surreal to have gone this far, “We didn’t expect that we would be given this kind if opportunity. We’re super happy and thankful.”
To further enhance their stage presence and vocal prowess, Mel, the ‘Sweet girl’, shared what they do to constantly improve their craft, “Mas marami pa po kaming pinagsasanayan, araw-araw nagre-rehearse kami, ‘di lang sa pagkanta kundi pati rin po sa pagsayaw. Kailangan po na we have the stamina in all our numbers.”
Meanwhile, Psalms is excited to kick off his recording career with GMA Music, “I’m excited to have my own single and do the shoot for a music video. The listeners can expect different genres like pop, R&B, and ballad from my songs.”
In addition, he also shared that he hopes to collaborate with one of the members of ‘The Clash’ panel, Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, “Siya po talaga ang dream kong maka-duet kahit sobrang kinakabahan ako to sing in front of him kasi isa po siya sa mga tinitingala kong artists.”
On the other hand, Bryan is grateful to all his fans who continue to support his music. According to him, he produces music based from his experiences in life so the listeners should prepare for heartfelt songs, “Kailangan po kapag makikinig kayo ng ilalabas naming music, maglalabas po kayo ng tissue dahil hugot po talaga. Siguradong kukurot sa inyong mga puso ang ilalabas naming mga kanta.”
GMA Music Managing Director Rene Salta sees a bright future for each of the newly-signed artists, “The label is excited to become their platform in creating heartfelt and powerful music that will connect us even more with the audience. Napaka-gagaling ng mga batang ito at sila ang kinabukasan ng ating musika.”
