Former ONE Flyweight World Champion Geje "Gravity" Eustaquio has a bold prediction for the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix Championship Final between Danny "The King" Kingad and Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson.
The finale of the prestigious Grand Prix will take place at the historic ONE: CENTURY PART I on 13 October at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.
Of all predictions for this match, it is safe to say “Gravity” has the most unique forecast.
"I think this match has a big chance to end in a knockout,” Eustaquio said. “This is MMA – anything can happen. They’re both high-level athletes. A small error could prove costly.”
Such expectations may be far-fetched since both athletes have never been knocked out in their careers. But the 30-year-old knows firsthand that anything can happen in a mixed martial arts bout.
Known for his granite chin, the outspoken Team Lakay senior got the surprise of his life when he got stopped for the first time in his career by Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES.
“Any athlete, no matter how durable he is, can be knocked out with perfect timing and execution,” the former Flyweight World Champion said.
“I don’t believe there’s a jaw that durable in mixed martial arts. If it comes clean, then it could be dangerous.”
And if you ask “Gravity,” there is little doubt as to who has the better chance of scoring that knockout.
“No doubt, DJ has the capability of knocking you out but the way I look at it, [but] I think Danny has a huge advantage when it comes to power,” Eustaquio said.
It may sound far-fetched now, but a sensational finish for “The King” is there for the taking according to his Team Lakay teammate – but it all boils down to confidence.
"If he has the confidence, he will have the chance to knock DJ out," Eustaquio predicted.
"It's confidence more than anything. Looking at Danny, he’s a complete mixed martial artist. On behalf of Team Lakay, we are looking forward to that knockout.”
Kingad’s road to immortality kicks off at ONE: CENTURY, the biggest World Championship martial arts event in history. No organization has ever promoted two full-scale World Championship events in one day.
The Home Of Martial Arts breaks new ground as 28 World Champions compete in four World Title bouts, three World Grand Prix Championship Finals, and four World Champion versus World Champion matches at the famous Ryogoku Kokugikan on 13 October in Tokyo, Japan.
