Martin, who hails from Hingyon, Ifugao, has fought foreign foes in his last seven bouts, stopping them all by an average of three rounds.

“Marami naman po kasi na mga matitibay na Pinoy boxers at gustong gusto ko po na makalaban ng matibay para masubukan din po ako,” said Martin upon wrapping up his training at the MP Highland Gym in Manila.

The 28-year-old Alolod is a veteran of 36 bouts and has compiled an overall record of 19-12-5, seven via stoppage.

While Alolod had 12 losses in his 10-year career, the Polomolok-native pugilist suffered only three stoppages in those defeats.

“Ibig sabihin po nu’n, talagang may tibay siya kaya sa training namin, tinutukan po talaga namin ang pagpapakondisyon,” said Martin.

Martin and Alolod will fight for the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation Bantamweight crown.

In Thursday morning’s weigh-in held at the Games and Amusement Board office in Makati City, Martin weighed in at 119lbs, while Alolod came in at 118lbs.

Also in the card is Philippine superbantamweight champion Mark Anthony Geraldo, who will stake his national crown against Lorence Rosas of Palawan in a 12-round title bout.

Dubbed “Fists of Fury”, the Friday night event promoted by Shockpunch Promotions and Ifugao Boxing Promotions will be held at the Mandaluyong Elementary School Gym.
