A fund-raising concert highlights this year’s Bakood Festival in the city of Bacoor, Cavite to be headlined by popular acts Ney Dimaculangan, Acel, and Jason Fernandez.
Dubbed The Band of HOPE, the benefit show will be staged tomorrow, Sept. 20, 5:00 p.m. at the Strike Gymnasium in Bacoor Government Center along Molino Avenue. Proceeds will be used to buy medical supplies for hemophilia and dialysis patients.
“The Band of Hope is part of our tri-color advocacy project in JCI that includes a blood-letting drive for red, a tree-planting and farming seminar for green, and this act of sharing the message of love and hope through music for yellow,” said Noel “Owen” Formento who sits as VP for community development, director for public relations, and project director for The One Big JCI Project RGY.
This project is a collaboration between the offices of JCI Makati President Kurt Soliman and JCI Bacoor Pambungad President David Clado.
All three marquee singers are former fronts for big-name bands, with Dimaculangan having served as voice to 6Cyclemind, Acel to Moonstar88, and Fernandez to Rivermaya. Other acts slated to perform in the concert are Asia’s Got Talent’s Meleena, fliptop rapper Rapido, journalists-led The Pub Forties, and electropop duo Beat Per Machine.
The blood-letting program is scheduled today 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. while the modern farming seminar will take tomorrow, Sept. 20, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
