Heels are great; they improve your posture and add a bit of height. They spell chic and glamour. But wearing them, say, in a club dancing all night can be extremely agonizing—the pain often trumps beauty.
Comes Refracted heel from Salvatore Ferragamo’s fall/winter 2019 shoes collection, a 5.5-centimeter (2-inch) high, innovative heel shape made of highly durable yet ultralight plastic, so wearing heels long period becomes bearable.
The heels’ high-tensile galvanized metallic shell coating and laser-carved irregular triangular facets catch the light, creating refractions of light.
According to the Italian shoe brand, the Refracted heel drew inspiration from the Flower heel, which was based on the revolutionary 1939 Column heel designed by Salvatore Ferragamo.
“The heel is designed to showcase the beauty of irregularity and variousness—a core element of the Patchwork of Characters philosophy that has been guiding our design team for several seasons now—by allowing for the play of light and surface in apparently random manner,” shares the creator, Paul Andrew.
Initial release of Refracted shoes comes in five styles in a wide range of colorways and fabrications such as nappa, suede, patent leather, and silk satin with crystal embroideries.
Salvatore Ferragamo is located at Greenbelt 4, Rustan’s Shangri-La, Rustan’s Makati, and Solaire Resort & Casino.
