Diaz recently went to Taiwan, where she is spent two and a half months in a training camp.

According to Diaz, spending time in Taiwan helped her be more focused and positive of pursuing her goals of qualifying to the 2020 Tokyo Games.

Diaz went to Taiwan with Chinese coach Gao Kaiwen.

The Taiwan camp has since improved on her lifts, putting Diaz within her target of a podium finish in the World Championships this September in Pattaya Thailand.

“Nabubuhat ko na 94kgs sa snatch at 117kgs sa clean and jerk, malapit na rin sa target ko na 98/120kgs,” said Diaz.

The 28-year-old Diaz is currently ranked no. 2 in the world in the 55-kilogram class.

At the moment, winning a gold in the 30th Southeast Asian Games is her main focus.

This is the reason why Diaz is skipping an opportunity to see action in the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
