,His loss last March really pumped him up. He got hungrier and his mindset changed. I can see the fire in his eyes that he really wants to prove something,” the ONE Flyweight World Champion Pacio said.
“It’s a huge motivation for Kevin to win in October. He really wants to end the rivalry on top. He’s focused and determined to prove that he’s the rightful champion from the start.”
The previous three showdowns between Belingon and Fernandes lived up to expectations – a classic grappler versus striker match-up with both athletes pushing themselves to the limits.
It was an all-out war between the two top bantamweights proving that they’re two of the best on the planet.
Pacio was a spectator in all of those matches and he is confident that when the fourth match comes, Belingon will have already figured Fernandes out.
“Kuya Kevin knows Bibiano well. I think he’s really preparing for a five-round war. I see him training in the gym every day and I know he’s working on his takedown defense a lot and also his main weapon, his striking,” Belingon said.
“It’s scary to imagine that kuya Kevin’s punches and kicks will be stronger in this match but I know they will be.”
The 23-year old prodigy is just as excited as the fans are as he knows Belingon will be putting on a performance of a lifetime.
“This is the biggest match of his career. This will end the rivalry,” Pacio shared.
“Everything has been a classic, even with the unexpected ending last March. For sure, we will talk about this match-up for years to come.”
