Demi Saclot and Ed Lopez emerged low gross champion and low net champion, respectively, at the recently concluded 4th Rev Alcantara Golf Tournament held at the Camp Aguinaldo Golf Club.
The tournament, backed by sportsman-businessman Alex Wang, aimed to raise funds to support golfing champion Rev Lizbeth Alcantara and enable her to join more tournaments in the United States where she is presently studying at the Alabama State University on a golf scholarship program.
Prior to that, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Bishop State Community College and is a recipient of a certificate of recognition (Outstanding Student Award for Women’s Golf).
Earlier this year, Alcantara was a low medalist champion in the NACC Girls’ Invitational Tournament and the Bishop State Invitational Golf Tournament. This month, she showed her wares in the country by emerging as low gross champion in the US Embassy Club Independence Day Charity Golf Tournament at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club.
“Definitely, she has a great potential in the sport and we want to help her realize her dream of playing in the Ladies Professional Golf Association series in the United States. I would like to thank all the golfers who joined to support Rev,” said Wang.
Class A champion was Rey Talatala with Noel Encarnacion and Mike Magpayo as runners-up.
Nong Madrid was Class B champion, followed by Leo de Castro and Nandy Lustre, while Mel Adriano ruled Class C with Bert Avelino and Lito Bantayan coming in 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
