The fluvial procession of the pagoda of the Holy Cross of Wawa successfully went through without any untoward incidents. Memories of the Wawa tragedy that happened 21 years ago, wherein 270 devotees drowned, still remain with the residents. Participants were required by organizers to ride wearing life vests and to register on the manifest to prevent a similar tragedy.

The Pagoda sa Wawa annual festival is a commemoration of the discovery of miraculous cross found floating in the Bocaue river. The celebration culminated in the Gabi ng Musika held at the patio of St. Martin of Tours Parish with the guest performance of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra, a tradition of thanksgiving for the music-loving Bulakenos, made possible through the auspices of Senator Joel Villanueva who graced the event, together with Bocaue Mayor Joni Villanueva-Tugna

The province of Bulacan as we know produces great singers like music icons Rey Valera and Regine Velasquez. It’s nature to many Bulakeños and Bocaueños their love for music, dances, arts, and traditions like this fluvial parade.

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 3 with the most active participation of Bocaue Police Station, under the direct supervision of Police Lieutenant Colonel Rizalino A. Andaya together with Bulacan PMFC, Marina, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Air Force, BPATs and Force Multiplier made sure to provide enough police visibility, area security and traffic assistance to avoid any untoward incident in the Feast of PAGODA 2019. Overall the fluvial fiesta became very peaceful, safe and successful.
