“We are planning to open more branches this year and bring the number from 100 to 120. We are opening at least one branch each month,” Jap Angeles, Anytime Fitness Asia Regional Marketing Manager, told Manila Standard in an interview.

In line with the opening of its 100th branch, the fitness chain also launched its new campaign  “You’re Welcome,” which aims to answer the decade-long stigma of gym intimidation.

“Our new tagline is inspired by the brand values that we want to share with our community. It reflects the future we aspire to have; to be the safe place where everyone can be themselves without any judgments, intimidation, or discrimination,” Angeles explained.

Anytime Fitness’ biggest selling point is being open round the clock, giving members the freedom to dictate their fitness journey and non-members to eliminate their fear of joining the gym. With the most competitive price range across the industry, its real appeal is its location with branches often located nearer to communities or within walking distance of most residential and commercial areas.

Despite the increasing number of “big box” gyms in central business districts that cater to a certain group of clientele, there are still a lot of underserved community areas, especially in the Philippines.

“I am confident that the Philippine market is more than ready for Anytime Fitness. The number of clubs we have in the country is a testament to the dedication of the Filipino people to health and fitness. They create the need and we are here to heed the call”, said Anytime Fitness Asia CEO Maurice Levine about the brand’s expansion in the local market.
