The City of Antipolo recently kicked off its annual Maytime Festival through a grand and colorful street dancing and float parade, with some 1,000 dancers from various schools taking part.
The festival also signaled the start of the pilgrimage season with the penitential Walk for Peace from the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo to the Shrine of our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in the city.
Spicing up the festivities are pageants, talent contests, cultural presentations, sports tournaments, booth competition, art exhibits, musical concerts, trade fair, photo contest, fashion show, and various special events.
One of the country’s top faith tourism attractions, the monthlong tradition will be highlighted by the Grand Sagala on May 19 and Flores De Mayo and Santacruzan, a devotion to the Holy Cross, on May 31.
