A usual amiable and very positive Dingdong Dantes greeted the entertainment press on Monday after he signed another contract with his home studio, GMA Network. He’s been a loyal Kapuso for 21 years now.
In the same event, it was announced that the A-list actor will play the lead (Big Boss) in the local adaptation of the hit 2016 Korean drama Descendant of the Sun, which stars real-life couple Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo.
In an interview, the 38-year-old actor said he’s literally grown up in GMA and he’s thankful for the opportunity and the creative freedom the network has been giving him.
“GMA has been my home since I was a teenager. I am thankful for the trust they’ve been giving me. More than physically, I am emotionally, spiritually prepared to take anything, most especially for projects like this,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dingdong is still in cloud nine with the birth of his son, Jose Sixto Dantes IV. The actor posted another photo of a tender moment he captured between wife Marian Rivera and their second child.
“Today in His resurrection, days after the birth of Sixto, we are again reminded of our mission in this world. Through this blessing, I have renewed my commitment to live a more meaningful life not just for myself, but for my family and others as well,” he wrote in the caption.
