Listed property developer 8990 Holdings Inc. recently signed a contract with Megawide Construction Corporation to build a low-cost residential project in Meycauayan, Bulacan comprising some 5,178 housing units.
8990 Holdings and Megawide have been buildinghigh-qualityy residential projects under the Urban Deca Homes brand over the past two years.
These include the 22- and the 13-building Urban Deca Homes projects in Ortigas and Tondo, respectively.
“Our Filipino team is working with Japanese and German technical engineers to create a structurally resilient design, using precast elements such as bearing and shear walls and slabs,” said Einstein Chiu, Megawide construction assistant vice president – precast.
Megawide president Edgar Saavedra explained that precast technology enables higher standardization from production to installation.
“We plan to custom build the precast units to the exact specifications of 8990 in our plant in Taytay, Rizal which has a tightly-controlled manufacturing environment,” he revealed.
