Anggy Sepdianto will compete in the men’s open doubles of the 12th Prima Pasta Badminton Championships set Feb. 22 to March 3, with his partner Hanz Bernardo at the Powersmash badminton courts in Chino Roces, Makati City.
Sepdianto, a former member of Indonesian junior team and is based here in Manila since 2010, has been known for his competitive nature, winning different local and international badminton tournaments in the past.
“I’m excited to compete and play against the best players in the Prima tourney. I love competing against the best,” said Sepdianto, who won the men’s doubles title of Apacs International Tournament along with Bernardo last Dec. 18 at the Zone badminton courts in Makati City.
He is expected to also join this year’s FDG Cup and the Bingo Bonanza Philippine Open.
Besides the Apacs tournament, the 29-year-old Sepdianto also won last October’s TUD Philippine Badminton Open men’s doubles title, alongside Jerickson Oba-ob. He was also a bronze medalist in the men’s doubles of 2016 Bingo Bonanza and the 2013 FDG Cup Open.
Sepdianto had been successful playing in the men’s singles competitions in the past, settling for the silver in the JPGG Indonesia International Challenge U-17 class in 2006 and bagging a bronze medal in the 2007 Singapore Open’s U-19 men’s singles event.
