The Titans claimed the top pick after finishing in the cellar in the Aspirants’ and Foundation Cups last season, and coach Mark Herrera has his sights set on some of the big names in the pool of 153 aspirants.

ASEAN Basketball League veteran Joshua Munzon, University of the Philippines playmaker Juan Gomez de Liano, Adamson forward Sean Manganti, and La Salle big man Santi Santillan headline the big names in the list, giving AMA a bounty of choices as it seeks to perform better this season.

It will be the third straight time that the Titans will select first in the developmental league draft. They took in Jeron Teng in 2016 and Owen Graham in 2017.

Batangas-Emilio Aguinaldo College owns the second pick, while Centro Escolar University is at third.

A record 20 teams, 15 of them school-based squads, are participating in the 2019 PBA D-League season, set to open on Feb. 14 at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Reigning Foundation Cup champion Go for Gold-CSB is returning and hopes to emerge on top again.

But it will have its hands full against a tough field bannered by collegiate titlists Ateneo of University Athletic Association of the Philippines, San Beda University of National Collegiate Athletic Association, St. Clare of National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities and Diliman College of Universities and Colleges Basketball League.
