Capucion said the party’s core advocacies were encapsulated in its motto: Pagbag-o (change), paglaum (hope), and pag-uswag (progress).

He added in this context, Tingog would “establish, promote, foster and preserve the political, legal, social and economic foundations of a truly just, free and democratic Filipino society through a three-point approach:  Transformational politics, shared governance, and development of the peripheries.”

Bebot Diaz, the chief of staff of Ilocos Norte Rep. Imelda Marcos, said leaders of Eastern Visayas “have to work together because cooperation is important” in attaining the party’s objectives.

“Human resource is our greatest asset,” said Diaz as he assured the party of their support.

Mark Gimenez, the party chairman, also introduced the structures, segments, and strategies of Tingog.

In his speech, Gimenez reminded the party leaders to remain focused on their respective functions and goals.

Jude Acidre, the party’s second nominee, said Tingog was joining the party-list elections to continue the vision started by the late Gov. Benjamin Romualdez for Eastern Visayas in Congress by ensuring that Region VIII would get at least 4 percent of the annual national budget.

He also laid out some of the legislative agenda of the party which includes the expansion of the Leyte Ecological-Industrial Zone and the institutionalization of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program among others.

“With Eastern Visayas now being the poorest region in the country, there is a need for a stronger voice to represent it in the creation of relevant policy and legislation, as well as in ensuring the delivery of government services,” Acidre said.

Rommel Capungcol led the participants in a “Challenge Talk” followed by the synthesizing of the discussions by Mark Stephen Reyes, the Tingog media relations officer.

Through the party-list system of representation, Tingog nominees said the party “aspires to be a stronger and more proactive party-list representative for Eastern Visayas in Congress.”

“Tingog hopes to serve the Filipino family, especially in Eastern Visayas, and enable them to achieve a dignified quality of life through access to education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.

“Tingog also hopes that every family in Eastern Visayas will see their home transform it into one of the country’s top 10 highly developed regions in ten years,” it added.

Aside from Acidre, the other nominees of Tingog are Leyte First District Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez, first nominee; Jaime Go, community volunteer and entrepreneur from Javier, Leyte, third nominee; Alexis Yu, a pharmacist and community leader from Basey, Samar, fourth nominee; and Jennifer Padual, a community leader and human resource management professional from Guiuan, Eastern Samar, fifth nominee.
