Tingog Sinirangan party-list delivers at least 50 sacks of rice to Lope de Vega and another 50 sacks of rice to Catarman in Northern Samar on Thursday. The delivery is in response to the call for help of the residents and officials after Tropical Depression ‘Usman’ brought heavy rains and floods to the area, causing massive disruption to their food supply. Local officials thanked Tingog party list, Leyte First District Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez and her husband, Lakas-CMD party president Atty. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez for their humanitarian response. The group, led by its nominees Jaime “Boy” Go and Alexis Yu, travelled from Tacloban to deliver 50 sacks of rice to Catarman and another 50 sacks of rice to Lope de Vega town.

“Rice and water supply are scarce in the town. We hope that Lope de Vega will get the necessary help the soonest possible time,” said Mavette Manicani, the spokesperson of Tingog.

According to Manicani, the delivery of food supply is urgent in Lope de Vega after making a phone call to Mayor Ana Palloc.

The two areas were battered by heavy rains and floods last week.

Palloc said they are expecting help as interior and upland villages in their town remained inaccessible and without electricity.

Affected residents are in need of housing materials, food, water, hygiene kits, and used clothing, the mayor added.

In Lope de Vega, more than 14,700 people were affected by the flood.

At least five people died while two others were missing due to flood, said the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

The officials said that 389 houses were totally destroyed while 729 were partially damaged in the town.

Local officials thanked Tingog party list, Leyte First District Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez and her husband, former Leyte congressman and Lakas-CMD party president Atty. Ferdinand Martin Romualdez for their humanitarian response.

Tingog’s current leadership is composed of former Mayor Mark Gimenez as party chairperson, former Kabataan Barangay stalwart Glenn Capucion as party president and Rachel Rodeles-Santiago, as party secretary-general.

Aside from Rep. Romualdez and Acidre, the other nominees of Tingog are Jaime Go, an entrepreneur and community volunteer from Javier, Leyte, as third nominee; Alexis V. Yu, a pharmacist and community leader from Basey, Samar, as fourth nominee; and Jennifer C. Padual, a community leader and human resource management professional from Guiuan, Eastern Samar, as fifth nominee.
