Manila City’s 5th District Councilor Irwin C. Tieng exchanged “I do’s” with Aklanon beauty, Ladylyn Riva on Sept. 30 in a lavish celebration at the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom.
Among the esteemed list of principal sponsors were President Rodrigo Roa Duterte and Cielito “Honeylet” S. Avancena, Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito M. Estrada, and business mogul Teresita Sy-Coson. The president was represented in the event by Atty. Harry Roque.
Although only in his 30s, Tieng has carved out a successful career in both business and politics. He worked for Solar Resources Inc. for almost a decade, before eventually entering politics. He was first elected into Congress as the Representative of Buhay Party List (3rd term Congressman), and is now serving his first term as Manila City Councilor.
Riva, a stunning beauty of Filipino-Italian heritage, was a presence in the local beauty pageant scene, having joined Bb. Pilipinas and Century Tuna Superbods. She eventually bagged the crown as Miss Casino Filipino in 2013. She is currently serving as the chief executive officer of Metro Faces Talent Management Agency.
Dubbed #IRWINstheLADY, the wedding was reminiscent of how Tieng won over Riva with his persistence, generosity, and loyalty.
Six years ago, a chance encounter in a Boracay event where Riva was one of the models led to romance a few months after.
“I didn’t realize right away that he was interested in me,” shared Riva. “He would take me and my friends out. He really took the time to make me comfortable and was patient enough to prove that he was serious about having a lasting relationship,” she added with a smile.
In the midst of the lavish setting, the couple was surrounded by their loving friends and family. The groom was dashing in his Randy Ortiz suit, while the bride was a sight to behold in a Mark Bumgarner gown.
The celebration was capped with a fun night of dancing and partying, definitely lots of memories to cherish for everyone.
The energetic couple shows no sign of slowing down. Tieng is running for re-election in 2019, while his now wife has big plans for her talent management business, Metro Faces. She is also dedicated to further growing her “Pabebe” program in Manila
