The Philippine Blu Boys trampled Bedford of Australia, 6-3, to sustain its impressive campaign in the Makassar Open International men’s and women’s softball tournament in Makassar, Indonesia over the weekend.
After edging the Aussies, 10-9, in their first meeting, the Blu Boys bowed to the New Zealand side, 1-5, but struck back with victories over Piccadilly of New Zealand, 3-0, and Lakidende of Malaysia, 1-0, before thumping the host Pirates, 10-0.
“The Blu Boys are definitely a force to reckon with in the international scene. I wish them good luck and I am confident that they will deliver good results,” said Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) presidentJean Henri Lhuillier of the national men’s softball team which is coming off a silver medal finish in the 10th Asian Men’s Softball Championship recently.
