Discovery Kids app was officially launched to spark children’s curiosity through watch-play-learn experience while enriching youngsters’ world for exploration.
In partnership with the country’s leading telco and digital services provider, PLDT Inc., and Smart Communications, the app was internationally introduced in the Philippines held at the Manila House, Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
Filled with fun recreational activities for children, the app launch connected parents and kids to have enjoyment while learning. Also, celebrity parents like Denise Laurel and Neri Naig attended the amusing gathering.
Celebrity couple Vicky Belo and Hayden Kho also joined the merrymaking in support of their daughter Scarlett Snow for the little star has episodes in Discovery Kids. Making local contents for Filipino kids, one of the episodes of Scarlett was showcased, in which she demonstrated how to make a slime.
Before and after the event, kids enjoyed various playing stations that enhanced their skills. Besides, there were also coloring materials provided on every table to showcase their artistic side.
“We try to bring the best of everything in this app,” said Jay Trinidad, President and General Manager for Discovery Kids Digital. He even shared that the concept of the fun app started in a restaurant where he saw a lot of children using smartphones.
To make parents life easier, the app has over a thousand activities which include shows, videos, a strong games portfolio, digital books and much more.
On the other hand, Trinidad had a walkthrough of the app showing a variety of subjects and contents. Discovery’s app features kid-friendly interface with intuitive kid-first navigation, which was designed for kids aged 4 to 7.
Contents are also based on popular characters such as Peppa Pig as it enhances children’s learning experience as explained by Trinidad.
App includes various contents such as shows like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Transformers Rescue Robots; games like Wild Kratts: Monkey Mayhem, Nature Cat: Park Builder; digital books of Scaredy Squirrel and Goodnight Gorilla; shows from Discovery’s content library like Cupcake Wars: Kids and How Do They Do It: Kids Edition, and a lot more.
“Real kids doing real things in the real world,” the general manager emphasized because the app takes learning to new levels with an exploration of many fields from cooking to art to science. The app also helps to answer a vast of questions for naturally curious kids.
The salient feature of the app is the downloading option where children can watch, play and read contents offline. Parents can also access the app’s option to monitor children’s downloaded and viewed contents.
“We’ve worked so hard on this to make it really something that parents can trust, that kids will love,” Trinidad concluded as he encouraged moms and dads to give it a try.
Trinidad is also thinking of new features to be developed in the future like notifying the parents of their children’s interests to trigger more experiences beyond the app.
Discovery Kids app is now available for download to engage young minds of fun learning without boundaries. The app offers a free 30-day trial with a subscription of P129 per month after the trial period.
